This study aims at correlating the Brazilian High School curriculum for Nature Sciences and the IB/MYP curriculum in order to understand the international assessment process and the use of rubrics as assessment tools. Originated from an ongoing Doctoral research in Education, the present article also proposes a reflection on the competencies in the area of Natural Sciences established by BNCC [Common Base National Curriculum] and the key concepts in the international Science curriculum. This is a qualitative study, of documentary analysis type. The corpus analyzed consists of two rubrics used as assessment tools in MYP High School and the project “Our Daily Energy”, developed at a Brazilian school. The results of the present article have shown that the use of MYP curriculum rubric models may enhance and improve the assessments of the Brazilian curriculum, enabling targeted competency testing and strengthening teacher-student collaboration in conceptual, procedural, and attitudinal learning. In other words, this study shows that there is a possibility of approximation between the curriculums.
