This article addresses the importance of multidisciplinary dialogue between the discipline of art and other disciplines of the school curriculum, in primary education, for the success of literacy and literacy/multilingualism practices. The problem that motivated the research reported in this article was how art teaching could contribute to the success of the literacy and literacy/multilingualism process and perhaps to a proposal for an interdisciplinary curriculum. This article is part of the master's research of one of the authors, with the second author as advisor. It is an exploratory, qualitative research, involving bibliographic survey of the literature focused on the analytical foundations of the research discourse. It also includes reports described by one of the authors about his experience as an Art teacher. For the content analysis, steps of the interdisciplinary research methodology were used. It was found that art has a great multidisciplinary potential and contributor to the processes of literacy, literacy and multilingualism, however, this would be enhanced if it could intentionally dialogue with other subjects, in a process of building an interdisciplinary curriculum.
