The aim of this article is to initiate a discussion of the concept of democracy from a perspective of realizing the constitutional right to education today, and also to discuss the use of digital information and communication technologies (TDIC) in the teaching and learning process. student learning. This research is based on a descriptive-explanatory methodology, based on literature. With this approach, we seek to verify to what extent the use of different technological artifacts can democratize the access of countless children, young people and adults to the Brazilian educational system. Libâneo Studies (1990); Demo (2009) and Saviani (2012, 2019) point to the need to democratize TDIC in the school environment and, concomitantly, to redefine teaching know-how.
