Tradução, Adaptação Transcultural e Validade de Instrumentos de Coleta de Dados sobre o Cyberbullying para o Português Brasileiro

Cyberbullying is a phenomenon that is on the rise, especially after the COVID-19 Pandemic, and that can cause mental health problems in children and adolescents. The objective of this study was to carry out the translation, cross-cultural adaptation and content validity of the Cyber-aggression Questionnaire for Adolescents – CYBA and the Cybervictimization Questionnaire for Adolescents – CYVIC, into Brazilian Portuguese, as well as to carry out an analysis of the reliability and internal consistency of the version of the online forms of these instruments. CYBA and CYVIC are based on the theory of Nocentini and Álvarez-García, who consider cyberbullying as a multifactorial phenomenon. This is a methodological study that applied the following steps: translation, synthesis of translations, back-translation, submission to the expert committee, pre-test and opinion of the original author, according to Beaton. The study participants were: two translators, two back-translators and five members of the expert committee, 20 students in the pre-test, 33 students in the test-retest and 258 students in the main collection. The final version of the questionnaires presented content validity indexes, measured using the CVI and CVC above .95, reliability indexes, measured using the ICC, between .90 and .92, as well as internal consistency indexes, measured using the Cronbach's alpha between .92 and .95. The versions of the instruments adapted for Brazilian Portuguese presented adequate content validity, reliability and internal consistency, proving to be reliable to be applied in the measurement of aggression and victimization by cyberbullying in adolescents, in the Brazilian context.
