powerful knowledge, curriculum, education for the SDGsAbstract
This study aims to verify how the implementation of basic concepts about the goals established by 2030 has been and how students from neighborhoods on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro are building their own perception of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The article is necessary given that social responsibility and business ethics are based on education aligned with sustainability. This study is exploratory and qualitative in nature. The study showed an alignment regarding the need to rethink teaching strategies to work on the topic in the classroom. When comparing the development of students from neighborhoods within the same city, it is clear that those from this region are less touched, given this decontextualization of the SDGs with the lives of students. It is necessary to monitor the construction of science on this urgent topic. It is concluded that the SDGs must be debated more regularly in schools to improve and even encourage teachers to get involved with the goals, in addition to being included in the school curriculum in an integrated way with other social agents, preferably with the support of committed programs in achieving the goals of the 2030 agenda.
