Abstract

The assessment of the technical performance of swimmers is a daily task for coaches of any competitive group. This assessment, mainly for the younger groups, is made on a day-to-day basis in practice, taking up a qualitative form and a lot of times a subjective one: the coach observes the swimmers motion and corrects it. A Qualitative analysis was made with 3 observers and 1 swimmer. The observed swimming technique was freestyle, and an observation chart was produced. With this, we intended to validate the made chart with regards to the degree of agreement between observers. The conclusion we reached was that the swimmer did not present variations between each swimming cycle. The observers finished the observation of the swimming technique with a 96% degree of agreement between them regarding the observed criteria.
