MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. A MOOC is characterized by being massive, online, and open. In an education context, MOOCs are getting a lot of attention since everyone, no matter their education or financial situation can take part in these types of courses. Alfresco is an open-source java-based ECM (Enterprise Content Management) used to manage all the content within an enterprise. This project consists of the development of a MOOC to introduce users to the use of an ECM, in this case, Alfresco. The project was developed in IPSantarém’s e-learning platform. In the front page you can find several features of Alfresco explained for free and intuitively. The course is divided in 5 modules. We thought that it would be relevant to produce a MOOC about this topic since this kind of software is more often used both at an enterprise and personal level and its always important to have acquired knowledge about how it works, what it is and what it is used for.
