The International Conference on Digital Transformation: International Cooperation, multiculturalism, collaborative work and inclusive, sustainable and resilient environments - was broadcast in real time, from the Colibri/Zoom session, on the Facebook page of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém and in person at the ESGTS Auditorium totaling a number close to sixty participants from more than twenty higher education institutions representing three Continents, on December 22, 2022.
This 3rd edition of the Conference inherits a DNA mirrored in the 2021 and 2021 editions, published in special issues of the scientific journal of the Research Unit of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, namely in its 1st edition - Vol. 8 No. 4 (2020), Thematic Edition: Exact Sciences and Engineering - Conference "The Digital Transformation and Information Technologies in Pandemic Times" and in its 2nd edition - Vol. 9 No. 4 (2021): Thematic Issue: Exact Sciences and Engineering | International Conference: Digital Transformation - International Cooperation, multiculturalism, collaborative work and more inclusive, sustainable and resilient environments.
Starting with this edition, the Digital Transformation Conference will maintain its annual frequency and will bring together research and scientific development areas for teachers and researchers from RIAL - International Academic Network of Lusophony, a network whose Letter of Commitment for its creation was signed on 17 November 2022 at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém by the signatory bodies from five countries - Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Portugal and representing twenty higher education institutions (HEIs) / research centres (RIs). These HEIs/RCs represent an intercontinental, multicultural, collaborative, innovative and creative space for R&D in multiple scientific fields where thousands of researchers and tens, hundreds of thousands of students work.
Participating in the event were authors from three Continents (European, African and American); a Research Centre, CIAC - Centro de Investigação em Artes e Comunicação - Universidade do Algarve with the involvement in the organization of its Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Hub of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém; Universities/IES from the three Continents namely: Angola - Universidade Kimpa Vita and Universidade Metodista; Brazil - Instituto Federal de Norte de Minas Gerais (IFNMG), Instituto Federal do Paraná (IFPR) and Universidade de Brasília; Cape Verde - Universidade do Mindelo and Universidade de Santiago; Mozambique - Forum Association of Academics of Mozambique (AFAMO), Higher School of Nautical Sciences (ESCN), Higher Institute of Training, Research and Sciences (ISFIC), Higher Institute of Management (ISG), Higher Institute of Management, Commerce and Finance (ISGCF), Higher Institute Mutasa (ISMU), Higher Polytechnic Institute of Gaza (ISPG), University of São Tomás Moçambique (USTM), Gregório Semedo University, Polytechnic University, Púnguè University, Diogo Eugénio Guilande Technical University and from Portugal - Instituto Politécnico de Santarém (IPSantarém), Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (IPT), Instituto Superior de Gestão and Universidade de Évora;
At the conference, a set of eleven articles were selected from affiliates of the RIAL partner institutions or from invited institutions, which are presented in the present issue, in a publication dedicated to Exact Sciences and Engineering that represents Volume 10, No. 4 (2022).
The opening session of the conference was attended by the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, the Director of the Research Unit of IPSantarém and the Pro-President for Internationalisation and Cooperation of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém.
The closing session was attended by the Sub-coordinator of the Scientific Domain of Exact Sciences and Engineering of the IU_IPSantarém and the Vice-President of the Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Centre of IPSantarém (CIAC).
