The study presents an experience report on the construction of records and materials of the clay crafts of the Community Água Boa II, north of the state of Minas Gerais. The research includes interviews with two artisans who maintain the traditional way of working with clay, preserving the craft. In the period from 1980 to 2000 the handicraft of clay was the economic base of the community Água Boa II, north of Minas Gerais, but nowadays this practice is less and less present in the daily life of the residents. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the process of making handcrafted pieces, such as jugs, pots and filters, as well as the understanding of the cultural and economic relevance of this practice. We noticed in the research that the traditional crafts suffered a fall, either in the making or in income generation itself, this has enabled artisans to take a broad view of reinventing themselves in the nowadays' world of work.
