Reflexões em Torno da Educação para a Igualdade de Género nas Primeiras Idades

With this article we aim to contribute to a deeper reflection on education in and for citizenship in pre-school education and to reflect on the need for education for gender equality in this educational context. In this sense, we present a small review of the state of the art and combine it with the results of a small study carried out in a kindergarten in a municipality in Alto Alentejo, where, through listening to children in an interview, their opinions on gender and on gender roles were verified. From the intersection between the state of the art and the children's opinions, it is highlighted the fact that this issue needs a greater appreciation and educational intentionality in kindergarten, to contribute to the construction of a gender identity free from stereotypes.
