History

In 1996, the Millenium Project was born, the journal of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, with ISSNp: 0873-3015, under the direction of Professor Vasco Oliveira Cunha and the coordination of Dr Sónia Silva and José Alberto Marques.

Later, in 2003, the editorial team was reorganized. Professor Maria Jesus Fonseca took over as director of the journal, with Dr Sónia Silva as sub-director.

The journal became a scientific journal in 2011 when it was indexed in Latindex. This year, it was assigned an ISSNe: 1647-662X.

In 2016, series II began, and the journal was renamed Millenium - Journal of Education, Technologies, and Health, with a new cover image and new presentation on the website. The journal is now published exclusively in electronic format, contributing to greater environmental sustainability. It is integrated into the SARC - Scientific Journal Hosting Service and the OJS - Open Journal System publishing and management platform. It now has a policy of blind peer review and plagiarism detection. To this end, Urkund is used, and a fully automatic machine learning text recognition system has been developed to detect, prevent, and deal with plagiarism, regardless of language.

The journal is directed by Professor Madalena Cunha and the assistant editors, Professor José Luís Abrantes, Professor José Paulo Lousado, Professor Maria João Amante, and Professor Paula Correia.

A year later, the journal was registered as "Millenium - Journal of Education, Technologies, and Health" by the National Institute of Industrial Property.

In 2018, Millenium's editorial team was restructured with the addition of deputy editor Professor Paula Santos and the departure of Professor José Paulo Lousado.

A few years later, in 2021, the journal is indexed in SciELO Portugal, a virtual library that covers a selected collection of Portuguese scientific journals and magazines.

In 2022, Millenium - Journal of Education, Technologies, and Health joins the Latindex 2.0 catalog, made up only of online journals that meet the highest quality standards according to the Latindex methodology.

In 2023, the editorial team of Millenium - Journal of Education, Technologies, and Health will be restructured with the addition of assistant editors Professor Cátia Magalhães, Professor José Paulo Lousado, and Professor Ricardo Almeida and the departure of Professors Maria João Amante and Paula Santos. That year, the journal began to publish articles in a continuous flow, organized every four months. It also began to have a SHERPA/ROMEO deposit registration policy. It is also worth noting that the Millenium reached a major milestone in its history that year with its indexing in Scopus, the world's largest scientific database with more than 27,000 titles in a multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and reliable field.

The journal is currently indexed in Redalyc, an indexing system that includes high-quality scientific and editorial journals in its index.

We want to continue to make history by being indexed in other databases, and we are currently applying to be indexed in WEB OF SCIENCE, a platform owned by CLARIVATE, made up of various bibliographic research databases designed to support scientific and academic research.
