Abstract

A música é uma arte, não podendo ser inteiramente compreendida pela ciência. Há até quem fale de uma espiritualidade ligada

à música. A relação entre a música e a ciência é, porém, bem mais estreita do que normalmente se pensa. Em primeiro lugar, e

independemente da respectiva percepção qualquer peça musical é um conjunto de sons e os sons são ondas que se propagam no

ar ou noutro meio, sejam ou não medidas. A acústica (de um étimo grego que significa “para ouvir”) é a parte da Física que se

ocupa das propriedades dos sons.
