Education under digital domination

Digital education, domination, hyperbureaucracyAbstract
Without being possible to ignore the democratic potential of digital machines, it is necessary to recognise that the technical domination carried out by an augmented bureaucracy entails control and surveillance capabilities for educational practices that are unparalleled in the history of education, including relational, curricular, evaluative, teaching, organisation and management dimensions. Even without considering the future impacts, for example in the classroom, of facial recognition technologies, the processes of digital domination of education entail unprecedented risks for democracy and for education as a process of humanisation of human beings.
