This study aims to analyse the opinion and perception of Portuguese educational agents on the integration of socio-emotional education in Portuguese schools. To this end, semi-structured interviews were carried out with educational agents from different levels of education, scientific areas and regions of Portugal. Although the latest research indicates that socio-emotional education contributes to academic success, better preparation for life's challenges, health protection and the creation of positive learning environments; socio-emotional education continues to be neglected in Portugal. According to the participants in the study, in order to integrate socio-emotional education it is necessary to change curricula, universalise and invest in the development of teachers' knowledge and socio-emotional level, increase social support at school, change the school organisation, and transform the environment in which education policies are discussed and decided.
