Peer Review Process

  1. The authors upload their own texts to the platform
  2. The authors will be sent confirmation of successful upload.
  3. The Editor and the Executive Committee will do a preliminary screening to check if:
    1. The texts fall within the scope of Finisterra and meet the Journal’s scientific standards. In case of a favourable decision, the texts are sent to two scientific reviewers. The review is "double-blinded": the reviewers identities are not disclosed to the authors and vice-versa;
    2. The texts do not meet the formal requirements. In this case they are immediately returned to the authors for alterations;
    3. The texts do not fall within the scope of the journal, or are not up to the required standard. In these cases, they will be rejected outright.
  4. In the case described in 3 a), the reviewers have 5 days in which to accept or reject to review.
  5. If reviewers do accept to review, they undertake to complete it within a month and to use the process shown in the Evaluation Form.
