Introduction: Customer satisfaction is one of the components of nursing care assessment. It is determined by the level of patient expectations, the quality of care provided, and the continuity of care. Home hospitalization is an alternative to conventional hospitalization, allowing acute and/or chronic patients requiring hospital-level care to receive clinical assistance at home.
Objective: To describe the level of satisfaction with nursing care among a group of patients undergoing home hospitalization in a region of northern Portugal.
Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational quantitative study. A convenience sample of *n* = 30 patients in home hospitalization from a hospital in northern Portugal was used. A questionnaire was administered, along with the Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale (ESCCE), developed by Rodrigues and Dias (2003). Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied using IBM SPSS Statistics software, version 29.
Results: The results indicate high levels of patient satisfaction with nursing care in home hospitalization, highlighting individualized care, privacy, and clear communication as key factors. Sociodemographic and clinical variables did not significantly influence the level of satisfaction.
Conclusion: Patients demonstrated high levels of satisfaction with nursing care, reflecting the quality of the services provided. This finding is relevant for the nursing team and the healthcare unit, underscoring the effectiveness of home hospitalization.
