Introduction: The holistic health of workers, relating to their general well-being in the workplace, includes the promotion/implementation of occupational health programs and services. Occupational nursing, in cooperation with employers and workers, should promote a healthy and safe working environment, as well as active aging, particularly in middle-aged workers.
Objective: To map the scientific evidence on workplace interventions that promote healthy ageing among workers, as well as to identify their potential for practical application within the scope of Occupational Nursing.
Methods: Scoping review conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework for Scoping Review (PRISMA-ScR) and with a search strategy in three electronic databases - MEDLINE, PubMed, and CINAHL, using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and keywords. The search took place on October 27, 2024.
Results: Seven articles were eligible and included in the review, with evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of intervention programs aimed at middle-aged workers to promote healthy ageing, from the most conventional to those based on digital technologies.
Conclusion: The interventions mapped can be transferred to the intervention plans drawn up by the Occupational Nurse for the same purpose, since their focus of action is holistic well-being in the workplace, maximizing the health of workers regardless of their characteristics.
