Abstract
Alemão, dramaturgo, poeta, Bertolt Brecht escreveu também contos. Estudou
medicina.
As suas primeiras tendências literárias foram para um romantismo muito
carregado de tintas anarquistas.
Primeira peça de teatro – “Baal”. Em 1918. Tinha então vinte anos de idade. É a
história de um homem que deseja mergulhar nas profundezas da experiência,
percorrendo os trajetos da persuasão e da dissolução. “Baal” espera encontrar a
liberdade na rebelião, mas nela encontra apenas a morte.
Aos vinte e um anos, na flor da idade, Bertolt Brecht conheceu Feuchtwangler
(1884-1954). Esta personalidade persuadiu-o a tornar-se membro do partido
social-democrata alemão.
Entre 1918 e 1920 Brecht escreveu “Trommeln in der Nacht” (Tambores na
noite), uma peça encenada com êxito enorme em 1922. Por este mesmo ano surge “Im
Dickicht der Städte” (Na Selva das Cidades).
