Atención farmacoterapéutica interprofesional: la visión del médico sobre el trabajo de enfermería

Resumen

Introducción: En el cuidado de la salud con el uso de medicamentos interactúan múltiples profesionales, sin límites de responsabilidad y gran variabilidad entre contextos y paises.

Objetivos: Conocer la visión de los médicos portugueses sobre las responsabilidades del enfermero en la atención farmacoterapéutica (AF) interprofesional.

Métodos: Estudio cualitativo, descriptivo, exploratorio. Selección y entrevista intencional de ocho médicos con experiencia relevante en la AF. Codificación y análisis de contenido de extractos relevantes de las entrevistas.

Resultados: Consideraron relevante el rol de los enfermeros en la AF, enmarcado en la preparación, administración, seguimiento, prescripción y educación del paciente y cuidador. La prescripción de medicamentos por enfermeros no es consensuada entre participantes, algunos consideran esta posibilidad bajo condiciones específicas. Destacaron la relación enfermero-paciente/cuidador como una fortaleza y la formación específica en farmacoterapia como una debilidad.

Conclusións: Los médicos consideran relevante el papel de los enfermeros en la AF. La asunción de nuevas responsabilidades por parte del enfermero debe estar condicionada a la evidencia de una formación avanzada en enfermería en esta área.
