Ventilación mecánica no invasiva en síndrome respiratorio agudo serio en pacientes internados por COVID-19

Introducción: La Ventilación No Invasiva es una forma de soporte ventilatorio que promueve la mejora en varios parámetros respiratorios tales como: saturación periférica de oxígeno, disminución del trabajo respiratorio y una reducción significativa en la necesidad de intubación y mortalidad. Es una terapia ampliamente utilizada en el tratamiento de la hipoxemia severa y refractaria al oxígeno, una condición clínica que se observa en pacientes hospitalizados por COVID-19.
Objetivo: Investigar a través de la literatura científica la interferencia de la Ventilación No Invasiva en la evolución hospitalaria de pacientes con síndrome respiratorio agudo severo desencadenado por COVID-19.
Métodos: La revisión seguirá las pautas establecidas por la metodología del Instituto Joanna Briggs y los elementos de informe preferidos para revisiones sistemáticas y metanálisis. Dos revisores independientes realizarán las búsquedas, la evaluación de la calidad, la extracción y la síntesis de los datos. Las bases de datos utilizadas serán PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Scielo, Web of Science, también se incluirán los estudios publicados en la literatura gris en ProQuest Disserts and Theses Database Science y Google Scholar que cumplan con los criterios establecidos.
Resultados: Una encuesta inicial encontró que el uso adecuado de la ventilación no invasiva administrada con un casco tiene resultados significativos en la tasa de intubación orotraqueal y ventilación mecánica invasiva. También se observaron estudios con desenlaces sobre morbimortalidad y protocolos de uso y seguimiento.
Conclusión: Los resultados informarán el uso de esta terapia y sus resultados para promover una intervención efectiva en pacientes hospitalizados.
