El impacto del parto traumático en las mujeres: scoping review

Resumen

Introducción: La satisfacción del parto está relacionada con cómo lo vive la mujer. Un parto traumático puede conducir a una serie de resultados negativos con implicaciones para la salud mental de la mujer.

Objetivo: Mapear la evidencia científica disponible sobre las percepciones de las mujeres acerca de los factores que contribuyen a una experiencia traumática del parto.

Métodos: Se llevó a cabo una Scoping Review, siguiendo las directrices del Instituto Joanna Briggs.

Resultados: Se incluyeron nueve artículos, publicados entre 2019 y 2023, con enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos, identificando factores considerados por las mujeres como traumáticos en el parto: práticas obstétricas, factores relacionados con el apoyo y factores relacionados con el profesional sanitario.

Conclusión: Es fundamental reconocer la complejidad del parto traumático y cómo en él pueden influir diversos factores, como las experiencias previas de parto, el apoyo durante el parto, la comunicación con los profesionales sanitarios y los acontecimientos inesperados. Conocer estos factores permite alertar a los profesionales sanitarios sobre la importancia de adoptar prácticas más humanizadas que eviten que las mujeres tengan experiencias negativas y, en consecuencia, les garanticen una experiencia positiva del parto.
