digital transition, doublethink, educational policies, global narrative of educationAbstract
The transition of educational resources from paper to digital media is underway in several countries and has been accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The speeches made by international organizations and national policy-makers present a double trend: on the one hand, they emphasize the importance of technological innovation in which they recognize various advantages; however, they also point out a number of problems arising from it, especially with regard to learning as confirmed by credible studies. It is in this “doublethink” that the following article analyzes this transition with particular reference to the reality in Portugal and Europe.
