Context: The case study is of interest for the analysis of curricular development projects. The understanding of phenomena confers on it the particularity, when the boundaries between them and the context are indefinite. Objective: to spread the experience of using a case study in the nursing area. Method: Multiple case study with documentary research, participant observation of students, semi-structured interviews. Treatment of data by content analysis; analysis of cultural domains and triangulation. Results: We highlighted the results: categories of analysis and triangulation, conferring the validity of the construct. Conclusions: The case study allowed us to study in depth the phenomenon of Health Promotion in two Higher Health Schools (cases), for the involvement of teachers in the curriculum in the elaboration of strategies to produce innovation and development of students' competences. Multiple case studies as a research method favor the growth and development of nursing as a discipline and profession.
