2023 | Jean-Paul Rodrigue

Jean-Paul Rodrigue has a PhD in Transport Geography from the Univerisé de Montréal (1994). He has taught at Hofstra University (New York) since 1999. His research topics focus mainly on transport and economics, as they relate to logistics, intermodal transport and the global distribution of goods.

Jean-Paul is the author of 7 books, 32 book chapters and more than 60 peer-reviewed articles. He is among the 2% of most cited academics in the world, with The Geography of Transport Systems (2006) and Port Economics, Management and Policy (2022) being the most recognized works.

He is part of the editorial board of several international journals and is a board member of the University Transportation Research Center and a leading member of the PortEconomics.eu initiative.

In 2019 he received the Edward L. Ullman Award for contributions to the field of transportation geography, and in 2022 he was named Distinguished Fellow at the Hagler for Advanced Study / Department of Maritime Business Administration, Texas A&M University.
