Parental interaction at bedtime influences the quality of children's sleep, making it essential to train them to adopt strategies that promote healthy sleep habits.

Objective: To map the available scientific evidence on strategies to promote parental training in preschool children's sleep hygiene habits.

Methods: A scoping review was carried out according to the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. The search was carried out in the CINHAL, MEDLINE and COCHRANE databases through EBSCO, in Portugal's Open Access Scientific Repository and in the Virtual Health Library. Eligibility criteria: studies addressing strategies to promote parental training in preschool children's sleep hygiene habits, without the presence of a pathology that influences sleep and in any context.

Results: The final sample comprised five articles. The results were grouped into four conceptual categories: school education programmes on sleep health, anticipatory guidance programmes, education programmes for sleep disorders and parental education programmes based on the theory of self-efficacy.

Conclusion: The more literate parents are, the more empowered they will feel to manage their children's sleep routines, so it is important to develop interventions aimed at promoting healthy sleep.
