Abstract

Introduction: Higher education represents a period of fundamental transition in the students' lives, a phase marked by increased social commitment. The lifestyles acquired in this period have implications in their future life. Therefore, the study of the relationship between physical activity and quality of life in higher education students is a fundamental imperative.

Objectives: To analyse the relationship between physical activity and quality of life in college education students.

Methods: A systematic review of the literature was carried out, whose selection of articles, with publication date between 2015-2020, was made through computer platforms. The studies were analysed and evaluated respecting the inclusion criteria previously established. The corpus of the review consisted of 6 articles, which presented methodological quality.

Results: The studies are unanimous regarding the relationship between levels of physical activity and quality of life of students in college education. It was demonstrated that regular, moderate to vigorous physical activity helps students to have better mental and physical health, with positive reflections on their quality of life.

Conclusion: Increasing and promoting the practice of physical activity in students of higher education are key strategies for promoting health and, consequently, quality of life in this population.
