A emergência do glamping: uma pesquisa bibliométrica

Resumo

Introdução: Glamping é uma mistura das palavras “glamouroso” e “acampamento”. Dada a ligação com o mundo rural, pode assumir-se como uma estratégia de desenvolvimento rural, ao mesmo tempo que contribui para a satisfação de uma parte substancial do mercado que pretende um contacto mais próximo com a natureza. Apesar desta pertinência, um estudo bibliométrico que clarifique questões essenciais relacionadas com a temática, não foi ainda realizado.

Objetivo: Fornecer insights em termos da amplitude da pesquisa e evolução da mesma, principais autores e principais afiliações, fontes usadas para publicação dos trabalhos, países em análise, tópicos de investigação e metodologias usadas.

Métodos: Pesquisa Bibliométrica feita na base de dados Scopus. Para tal utilizou-se a palavra “glamping”, tendo incidido sobre trabalhos que tivessem o termo no título, resumo ou palavras-chave. Posteriormente foi limitada a trabalhos publicados em revistas ou conferências. Dado que seis trabalhos não estavam relacionados diretamente com o turismo, estes foram eliminados. A análise dos resultados baseou-se em estatísticas descritivas, tendo sido complementada com o VosViewer.

Resultados: A maioria dos documentos surgiu a partir de 2020, o que revela a novidade da investigação sobre a temática. Numa lista de 114 autores, apenas três têm três artigos e oito, dois artigos, o que é compreensível dada a novidade desta forma de turismo. Portugal e China são os principais países de investigação. O Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism, Sustainability, International Journal of Tourism Research e o Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management são as principais revistas para publicação.

Conclusão: Conclui-se que o glamping constitui um campo de investigação ainda recente, com maior incidência em Portugal e na China. A literatura concentra-se sobretudo na perspetiva da oferta, embora, do lado da procura, se destaquem estudos sobre as características psicológicas dos turistas. Permanecem lacunas relevantes, nomeadamente quanto ao perfil dos empreendedores e ao enraizamento territorial desta modalidade turística, apontando caminhos para investigações futuras.
