ABSTRACT
The short food supply chains result, mostly, of a network of collaboration between farmers and they have led to new forms of marketing of local products and to new consumers. In this paper we describe an overview that intends to, critically, present the various dynamics that results from innovative food supply chains and demands, that were registered in two rural communities, and the way in which they have contributed to facilitate access to markets, to strengthen the links between farmers and consumers, to enhance the economic potential of local agriculture and globally to a better way of life.
