Abstract

Qualitative health research has become relevant, especially when it is intended to identify the meanings attributed to the content of health care and in a concrete way to Nursing care. The reflection developed from professional experience is highlighted, especially when it is operationalized through the narrative of the practices. Objective To understand the contribution of narrative in qualitative research studies. Method. We developed a methodological essay based on a literature review centered on the current topic - narrative as a research technique. Results - the analysis of narratives with professional content, namely in the areas of education and research, constitute an essential result identification of domains valued by health professionals (nurses), in understanding the meanings and meanings of care. Conclusions - using narrative as a data production technique, allows us to identify in the perspective of professionals, defining attributes of concepts related to the nature of action in nursing.
