Nowadays, body image assumes ascending importance, most evident during puerperium. Nurses become a women’s empowerment promoting element for the management of their bodies. In that sense, a scoping review was elaborated, aiming to identify the nursing interventions that capacitate women to manage their postpartum body. The review was developed according to the Joanna Brigs Institute protocol, and the articles from 2014-2019, searched at the EBSCO, PubMed, Scielo and Proquest platforms. From the 10 articles found, 3 were included in the review after PRISMA® application. It was denoted the importance of women’s participation in own body management. Nurses should encourage women’s participation in the management of their body image, through establishment of a therapeutic relationship, with emphasis in health education, that allows them to manage body changes during pregnancy and postpartum. The partner’s involvement in the process is crucial.
