Abstract

Breast cancer and its treatments affect the entire bio-psycho-social and spiritual dimension of women. The nurse is responsible for an individualized and holistic care that responds to the needs of the same, and should fit the use of non-conventional therapies in their interventions. The present article aimed to identify the unconventional therapies that are used to care for women with breast cancer. A systematic review of the literature was carried out through the EBSCO platform, in which four articles were analyzed. These refer to caregivers' attitudes and knowledge about the risks between conventional and complementary therapies, communication with patients about them, their benefits in post-cancer menopause, and people's preference for integrating complementary therapies. It was concluded that the research in the area of nursing, is emerging, so that the benefits and harms of these therapeutics in breast cancer can be evidenced.
