Introduction: It is during adolescence that young people are faced with the feeling of threat of identity, which can trigger aggressive behavior (Hernández, 2013). Bullying is a form of school violence that has come to have a high prevalence (Andrade, 2012).
Objective: To increase the level of literacy for the health of the school community (students and teachers ) in relation to bullying and develop the project in all classes from 5th to 9th grade, including teachers, in a school of Figueira da Foz county.
Methods: The target population consists of 203 students from 5th to 9th grade and 13 teachers. It is a cross-sectional study of research-action and applied a diagnostic questionnaire and conducted education sessions for health, then evaluated with the application of a new questionnaire.
Results: 93.1% of students identified what to do in a bullying situation, and 62.6% said “call an adult”; 95.1% knew what it was bullying, 56.8% associated the concept of physical aggression and 92.6% knew the types of bullying, and physical bullying (71.9%) and verbal bullying (69, 5%) were the most mentioned types. 77% of teachers have never experienced any bullying situation.
Conclusions: Students have acquired new knowledge regarding the questions “In assault situation what do you do?” “You know what is bullying?”, “What is bullying?” “You know the types of bullying?” And “What are the types of bullying?”
