Introduction: This study stems from the first phase of a project developed by UMIS (ESSS) in partnership with a Hospital of RSLVT, with nurses who perform nursing consultation (NC) to patients with Permanent-Pacemaker (PPMs) or Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators (ICDs). Nurses seek to promote the capacity for self-care among these people, and consultation is a privileged context for the implementation of their intervention. Objective: To describe the intervention of the nurse in NC with PMD or ICD carriers. Method: Exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study. Population - nurses who perform EC. Data collected through narratives, object of content analysis. Results: three themes and categories were identified: Initial assessment (function/reason for action/action); Nurses intervention (observe/manage/attend/inform); Evaluation of the interventions outcomes (functional/structural integrity and self-care action). Conclusions: The intervention of the nurse in the NC shows the autonomous dimension in the different stages of the process of care for the person as a self-care agent.
