Círculos de conversación como estrategia de educación sexual para familias de niños y adolescentes autistas: Relato de experiencia

Resumen

La sexualidad desempeña un papel central en el desarrollo humano, pero en el contexto del autismo presenta características únicas, debido a las particularidades del desarrollo social y comunicativo. Los individuos autistas pueden experimentar desafíos específicos relacionados con la sexualidad, como una mayor exposición a situaciones de violencia sexual. Sin embargo, el tema aún es poco explorado, generando lagunas en la orientación familiar y en la creación de intervenciones adecuadas. Frente a esta realidad, los círculos de conversación han surgido como una herramienta estratégica para promover la educación sexual inclusiva y fortalecer el papel protector de las familias frente a la violencia sexual. El objetivo de este estudio fue describir la experiencia del uso de círculos de conversación como estrategia de educación sexual para familias de niños y adolescentes autistas. Este estudio cualitativo descriptivo se caracteriza por ser un relato de experiencia. La experiencia se llevó a cabo entre 2023 y 2024 en asociaciones de apoyo a personas autistas y sus familias en los estados de Minas Gerais y São Paulo, Brasil. Los círculos de conversación demostraron ser una estrategia eficaz para promover la educación sexual en el contexto del autismo. A través de un ambiente acogedor y participativo, fue posible desmitificar tabúes y proporcionar herramientas prácticas para abordar temas sensibles relacionados con la sexualidad en el espectro.
