O livro acerca do qual nos propomos refletir procura articular duas das áreas do conhecimento humano (a investigação e a educação) que, pelo seu potencial transformador do próprio conhecimento, das pessoas, das instituições e mais genericamente das sociedades, se revelam do maior interesse para a própria humanidade, mas que são também, e para além do seu indiscutível interesse, da maior ambiguidade conceptual e complexidade epistemológica.
